At SYMPOSIUM, we believe that we all have a responsibility to do our bit for the planet. We’re always looking for ways we can improve in this area, and become more sustainable in various areas across our business. Although we’re a small family business, we like to think that our actions make a big difference, so we’re proud to do our part.
We thought we’d take you through some of the changes we’ve made over the last few years to become more eco-friendly in our service!
Recyclable Takeaway cups & packaging
The next time you pick up your take-away SYMPOSIUM coffee, take a look along the side of the cup and you’ll see the reCUP® logo. This means that all our takeaway cups are recyclable – all you have to do is wash your cup out and place it in your mixed recycling. reCUP® cups use 43-51% less plastic than conventional plastic-coated paper cups and are designed to be recycled – read more about them here.
You can Click & Collect your order from any of our coffee houses for simple, contact-free delivery. It couldn’t be easier! Just click here to order.
Our frappe cups, straws (by Vegware) & lids can also be recycled alongside your mixed recycling – just make sure to give them a rinse out first. Our paper bags and cup holders can be put in your paper & cardboard recycling respectively. All our coffee houses recycle cardboard, cans and plastic in-house too.

Hopefully, this has given you some insight into the steps we’ve taken to become more sustainable & reduce our waste as a business. We’re always trying to improve, and we know we’ve still got a way to go, but every small step helps!
